A quick google search turns up a telex headset complete with throat mic.

A google search turns up a cornocopia of mics that would work.
Even an "Ear bone" mic that would fit in the ear inside a helmet or headset.

Most throat mics are very average in audio quality and the earbone style are about the same.

OK I thought the problem from the original post was the air noise engaging the VOX on the intercom and blanking out voice from wind noise? Then wouldn't average audio quality be superior to no audio?

Tried this with my new Clarity Aloft headset today. Good results using two layers of cloth tape forward, one facing me - pulled nice and tight. For the fist time the guys in my tower can hear me at 50%+ power. Similar "CRAZY" loud setup on my S-1S.

Previous attempt utilizing a Lightspeed "Solo" headset did little good.

Shouldn't really need a pic. I just used a 1/2" wide strip of black gaffers tape (I think any cloth tape will work). Gaff tape is nice (expensive) because it will leave no residue if you decide to remove it later. Start on the top edge. Wrap forward tightly 1.5 times and tear off. Install the Oregon Aero cover as per the instructions. 30 second job.

I need to speak up more, but it definitely worked some magic with the outgoing noise level. Instead of "indiscernible" I get "a little quiet" from the tower.

I am heading for the hangar as we speak.  I have been fighting this problem for years and have just replaced my mic with one that I found in New Zealand $$$$$.  Does not work any better than the others.  Will let you know how the tape works.  THX

I am still not following what exactly we are doing with the tape.  Are you taping over the mic itself the small hole on the electrocet or forward and aft?  Sorry I am still fighting the problem.

Tape the hole on the side away from your mouth with the heavier tape.  If that doesn't do the job for you then put some cloth type tape over the side close to your mouth.

Do you have an Oregon Aero leather mike muff?  That will make a big difference.
