My S1S has the standard oval footprint tires, "Air Trac".  Replacing them but....Desser just sent me two Condor's that the salesman said  would work.  They are spam can look with a flat, squared edge.  Flying to Oskosh from FL next week and may not have time to ship back and getrdone.\\Has anyone used these type tires on their Pitts?

I have been using Condor's for a couple of seasons on my S-1T.  They are fine.  Condors are made by Michelin.

Thanks......The "Air Trac " brand I discovered are chwap tiresdesigned for turf.  I fly off turf but visit hard surfaces often.  I was planning on 25PSI to soften landings (bounces) a bit....what say you?

Plane Type S-2B

I have Condor 6 ply on my S-2B and they work great, sod and hard surface.

30 psi seems to be the sweet spot for my setup.

I had a pair of Air Tracs on my Acro II when I finished it.  They lasted one year and the 3 center treads were wore out from landing on concrete.  I replaced them with square edge Air Hawks in 2007.  These tires are still going strong.  The round edge tires are fine and economical for turf, but you need more surface area on pavement to distribute the load across the tire.  I think they track better as well as long as the plane is straight when it touches down.

My Pitts weighs 913 empty, (IO360) 180 more with me, and then 60-80 more with fuel. I will start at 25psi and see how it goes.
Looks like I will get more milage out of the Condors.
Thanks
