Dave,
I have always been curious as to why Lou installed a Cont. O-470 in his second plane N1300S since the 4 cylinders were recommended/prefered. I have an O-470 in mine since I found a brand new one for $1500.00 and an OVH Hartzel for $180.00 in 1971, Yea I know it's not great for inverting for hard akro ya just learn to live with it. The O-360s were kind of hard to find at that time period due to the Pitts, T-18, SD and other homebuilts. I have been very happy with the extra HP and the 6 cylinders of the O-470. I'm sure that the empty weight of 1050??? on the plans sure did not pertain to the second SD
An O-470J meant to go in a 1954/55 C-180
After 25 years time to clean it up
A little fresh paint should help
Had to call in help
Back where it belongs
