On one of my Smith Miniplanes , I'd like to possibly put an aluminum spring gear . I've seen several , some have the one piece gear comparable to the Pitts set up and some have the Cessna type , two piece gear . I am aware of the problems inherent to the one piece gear and the stress that it puts on lower longerons . I converted a S-I fuselage years back for the spring gear using the factory supplimint drawings . There have been numerous problems but if done correctly , can be made to work with less complications . I kinda studied the Cessna gear but have not seen enough detail to fully understand it's total structure . If anyone on the Forum has a drawing or pictures of the details involved , I'd appreciate having a look . Also information concerning which Cessna gear is used . I would assume it would be C-150 but been bit by that word before . Share what ya have with me , Thanx šŸ’ Dennis
