I had a question regarding the short pushrod, #64, and its 3/8" x7" 4130 rod etc..
I was opting to make my short pushrods from
-7/16"x.095" x~7" 4130 tube,
and letter drill "i" both ends
, tap lefthand/ rthamd at ends for complimenting L&R male threaded rod ends/aurora bearings (xab-4z, xam-4z to be exact).
Vs the plans 3/8 solid rod , necked down/ turned and die threaded
-I see many variations of this pushrod and sure all are still flying today,..
I just thought the internal tapped thread would be a better option in almost dom sized tube (ie.100"wall)
, rather than exposed external die cut thread which could pose a failure point over the rolled male thread rod ends...?
Experience & Input appreciated!
