    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Rob at Raven Aircraft told me he has heard of an additional supplier of tailwheel rod springs but doesn't know the name.

Rob is temporarily out of that business as he's moved and hasn't found the right shop so his big lathe is in storage. ACI won't respond to me. Steen told me they source their rod springs from ACI and they can't get ahold of ACI either.

I'm facing about $1000 for a single piece of 17-4 PH, machining and polishing, then heat treating a single piece. Someone who is doing this routinely likely could produce a custom spring for half that. Anyone know of the mystery manufacturer?
