I've searched back over threads concerning C/G and engine mounts . Bare in mind that my project is a Smith Miniplane with a Cont. 0-200 . Wouldn't be able to bite it's tail if it had to , but in my case , I've moved the shoulder cross over bar aft 5'' . I weigh 240 lbs. . In moving the bar aft it will allow my torso to recline that amount and it doe's let my butt move aft but not the 5'' of my shoulder area . The engine , give or take will weigh 180/190 lbs. and possibly more depending on equipment that will be settled on . I've come up with a two inch move forward as a figure for the engine would get me in a ballpark area where accessories , prop and extension would give me an envelope of balance . I've mounted (temp.) the engine mount to be able to hang the engine for cowling and baffle work , with 2'' spools . They are aluminum and a bit frail in the midsection but I have 6061-T6 bar stock to machine healthier ones . They will also be 1 1/2'' OD . I feel it is acceptable but thumbs or down never hurts . Tell me what Ya think
