Greetings forum gurus, I come here seeking wisdom once again as I annual/repair my friend’s Eagle. Seems it throws me a curve every year, and this year it’s spots of the 40+ yr old Imron finish that have cracked and broken away from the ceconite fabric, all the way down to bare fabric. The worst is a section adjacent to the lower wing’s non-skid, about 9” in diameter, where someone had previously stepped (he tail-slid the temporary tape repair right off). As we know, Imron laughs at solvents like mek, so I’m planning on carefully sanding back to well-adhered finish and building back up with polyfiber products before painting with 2-part paint we’ve touched up with before. Thoughts? Advice? Free anxiety meds?
