Going in the weeds here.
First, is it worth the time/headaches to fab your own torque tube with “basic” skills and a “modest” shop?
Second, I guess I could ask them directly, too, but is the Steen-built torque tube sold online to plans spec or “stretched”?
Third, as for the control stick socket ends, is there a preferred build technique, plans vs. McKenzie. Near as I can see the plans/Manual version is an open, tapered tube full length to the rod end with washers welded on the outside. Mac version is tapered stick to a U-bracket, gusset-welded rod end.
Clear as mud? Discuss.
