I'm running out of ideas. On a flight a couple weeks ago in my Eagle my prop was slow to respond when I started dialling it back. I'd turn the knob and nothing would happen, then a second or two later the RPM would drop all at once. The next day during run up I had to take the RPM up to 2000 to get it to cycle (I usually do it at 1700). Then the next day it wouldn't cycle at all. At 2300 I could pull the prop lever out all the way with no RPM drop.
Oil level and pressure is good. Linkage and control lever travel is all good. MT prop only has 20hrs on it and has been awesome. Hartzell governor was rebuilt 200hrs ago, but it seemed like the most likely culprit. Oil screen on the gasket is clean, and no metal or gunk in the oil or filter. I had the governor tested today and it's fine
So now what? Surely it isn't the prop, but maybe. It IS a month out of warranty. Is there a way to test oil flow to the governor?
Any ideas?
Thanks
