Hi All,
I'm new to the forum and looking to satisfy my bucket list goal of owning a moderately aerobatic open cockpit biplane. I have 800 hrs in a 260 hp Bearhawk I built about 9 years ago. I also built an RV-12 with EAA chapter members and two dozen high school kids.

I have an opportunity to buy a Starduster Too built in the 1970's from the original builder. It has a 180 hp motor and a const speed prop. I saw the plane a number of years ago and was impressed with its construction. It has been hangered its whole life. Full plans and documentation are available.

What should I be looking for on a prebuy inspection? What upgrades and/or changes are important? I read a bit about the landing gear change. I also heard something about tail structure changes. Being older what age related issues should I be aware of? I'm not that familiar with wood construction.

Looking forward to your collective replies.
