Hello everybody!
French "mechanics" drive me crazy!
My S2a SN2067 had a very, very bad looking spring mount (picture 1), so I cut it off to find out it only was attached with two ugly big weld spots and solded to the tailpost by the former french mechanics...
I had a look at a friends S2a SN2032 or s8and found a simple plain steelplate 75x25mm welded to the tailpost(picture 2). Also I found a picture (3) in an old thread from WES, which shows a 90° bend up edge at the rear.
Can someone tell me what was original and what is the bolt in the tailpost in picture 3 for?
Is it to fix a sleeve where the spring mount is welded to and not direct to the tailpost? Seems mine had also a hole at the location(4)! The french filled it with brass soldering...(picture 5)!
I also had a look at a S2c, which had the 90° bend but no bolt...(6)?
I'm exited to get some information!
Blue skies, Jochen
