    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Addition to the compression rib

Addition to the compression rib

Per Randy "I always install a 1/2" wide piece of capstrip in front of the spar between the legs of the nose block (also make the gussets bigger) on the compression ribs only. I like to have something solid between the drag wire blocks so they will pull against themselves and not just the glue line. .... Another place I install 1/2" cap strip is on each side of the spar on the lower spar butt rib because so much of it has to be removed to get the rib over the spar butt plywood and strap fittings. "
