    Why become a Subscribing Member?

    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Elevator Horns

These were originally designed to be crafted out of .o95 4130. It doesn't exist anymore so you need to bang them out of .100 material. The first set looked beautiful until I bent those ears. One looked great... the other not so. Here you see my second go round with it. I practiced on a few scraps of .100 to see how the bend would go. By the way... leave the ears with about 1 1/2" of extra material so that it is easier to bend. Cut to size afterwards. They still need a little sanding.
