There's currently 15 or so Pitts listed on Barnstormers. Been lurking on there for quite a while for a nice factory S2-A Pitts. Seems like they all either need an engine or fabric or worse yet, both. The S2-A listed looks okay, but original fabric and engine, and not in annual. With the cost of overhauls I understand why some decent planes are timed out with hours or years, usually both. I haven't seen this many Pitts listed for sale that I can remember. I'll continue to bide my time but sooner or later I'll probably find a nice one. There's a lot of experimental S1's for sale but I'm not an homebuilt kind of guy. I know there's a lot of great homebuilt Pitts out there some probably better than factory.
