    Why become a Subscribing Member?

    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Caution for you users of Aerovoltz batteries, and potentially all LiPo batteries. If it is fully discharged it is toast and you have a very expensive shelf ornament. I flew the other day for the first time with my new battery and unbeknownst to me the alternator failed. My first indication was radio going inop. Upon landing I learned the sad truth about LiPo batteries. Great weight savings but don't ever forget to turn off your master switch. (Who hasn't done that before?)

I've read that new builders will hard wire their strobes to the master so they will be warned if they leave it on.
