    Why become a Subscribing Member?

    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

I have had to cut the fabric on the left upper aileron and right lower aileron to tighten the hinges, because of to much play. I do not know if the aircraft is covered in ceconite or poly-fiber and have neither the tools or chemicals to repair at this time.
Can I use an inspection plate with screws securing the plate to the inspection ring?
I do not know if this has ever been done or even if it is safe to do so.
