Hi FolksAn aileron rigging question for you. On the Eagle, I heard a while
back that with both top and bottom ailerons hooked together, with the aileron
strut, but unhooked at the bottom of the wing from the bell crank, they should
balance out. I dont see this in the book anywhere, but in hooking them up, I
decided to check it. The right side balances great, but the left side is a bit heavy
and drops down.
Is this important or an "old wives tale"? They all rig
out fine, and measure fine, and are really smooth, but again, when I unhook the
left side from the bell crank under the wing, it drops down and does not balance
in a neutral position. But the right side does.
Again dont know if this
is critical ---- so thought I would ask a few folks and see what they
think. And if it is critical, how does one balance it out?
