I'm in the middle of the conditional inspection on my ASII. One of the items on my list was to get rid of a little free play in the left aileron linkage. The source of the free play ended up being where the inboard, upper and lower, aileron hinge bearings get riveted into a 4130 fitting. You can wiggle both bearings up and down. A picture is below. I'm looking for suggestions on how to correct this. I'm thinking of drilling the rivets out and using some shim stock to fill in the gaps then reriveting. Anybody else ever run into this?
