Is there a reason behind the aileron hinge rod end selection on the drawings (essentially a riveted slip joint)? I'm thinking about getting a thicker wall tube, tapping it, and using a threaded rod end with jam nut. Is there a reason I shouldn't go this route?

For those with a keen eye, after taking a photo of the plans I realize I'll need .095 wall not .063.
