    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).

so we all know Aviat's, ahem, pricing schedule is fairly spendy at the best of times..

Today's quote for the air filter element is $461.27 and no I didn't misplace the decimal. Even if I was made of money I can't in good conscience support Aviat's business model in times like these.

I searched and am curious if anyone has successfully modified/fabbed another fram element into the existing space on the stock cowl? Or is Cameron's ram air the way to go now? Any other ideas?

<and much appreciated!>
