I have decided that it would be really nice to have an alternator . I don't need to be very powerful as its only purpose is to charge the Odyessey 680 batteri for starting, besides power a few small consumers ( radio and oil temp. gauge )
Now the aircraft types, Plane Power, B&C and the certified ones all are a bit expensive, to say the least, but I wonder if it is possible to find a suitable one from the automobile world.? And in case which one ?
It must:
Turn the right way ( anti clockwise seen from pulley end )
Have a pulley for a single V-belt ( not the modern multi-belts)
Preferably be internal regulated.
Not big and heavy, the smaller the better.
Does anybody here have experience with car type alternators ? Any recommendations , or the opposite, as it might not be a good idea after all ??
