Why is 90% of the aileron control hardware made of chromoly steel but aileron slave struts .250 alum?
I ask because I’m having a hell of a time fabricating (bending) them per Sparcraft plans.
Seems 4130 would be a lot easier to fab, more streamlined, better clearance, stronger etc..
Am I missing something ??
And yes, Sparcraft are different (shorter) than the $40 ea. Pitts hardware from Steen.
