    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Anybody use Oratex, or know someone who has?

I'm trying to get educated on all the various fabric covering systems out there. Anybody have strong opinions one way or the other on Oratex? The fact that it's 60% of the weight of other systems and doesn't require paint is attractive, but I'd hate to be an early adopter and discover it has some problem.

The few threads on this forum that touch on the subject don't seem to include anybody who actually used it. It looks like the super cub guys are all over it, and I'm surprised the claimed 50-60% weight savings hasn't gained any traction here.

Opinions?
