Ashley SP-5 and Cirigliano SC-1

I came across this photo in the January 1969 issue of Sport Aviation and did a little research, finding that there are two of these super cool 1928-built aircraft.

Aerofiles says for the SP-5:
David Dexter Ashley, Garden City NY
Ashley SP-5 Bob-O-Link 1928; 90hp Curtiss OX-5, and 100hp OXX-6. David Ashley (engineer with Curtiss Co). Looked like a smaller version of Curtiss P-1 Hawk [899W]. Also had 115hp Milwaukee Tank, and was active into the 1970s in northern New York state. Reported rebuilt to flying status by Robert Falcone, Buffalo NY.

And for the SC-1:
Serafin Cirigliano, New Castle DE & Farmingdale NY
Cirigliano SC-1 Baby Hawk 1928; 90hp Curtiss OX-5; span: 27'0" length: 17'6". David Ashley. [775W]. Scaled-down copy of Curtiss Hawk, and a second version of Ashley SP-5 [899W]. Modified in 1949 with 145hp Warner, 27'0" wing, and cockpit canopy as Smith-Cirigiliano.
