Here is a picture of the biplane lineup during the (IAC Chapter 12) Ben Lowell Aerial Confrontational at Sterling Airport in Colorado two weeks ago. Great contest. There are a few more Pitts S1 types in the hangars. What is unusual is the four aircraft from left to right are all experimental type that were scratch built by the current owners and pilots. I have not seen this much of a concentrated display since the late 80s or early 90s. The Blue and White is new Wolf type with very custom details, the Yellow is a Wolf Pitts, the Green and Black is (Toxic Stinker) S-11, and the Red and Black is my SS-300. The workmanship on all is outstanding. It was a pleasure to judge all three of the custom biplanes. The Red S1S is a factory model that was once owned by Patty Wagstaff. Aviat did the rebuild a few years ago, very nice rebuild. The far right S1S (S1LD Low Drag) is one of many Rich Bastian builds from 1977.
