So im finally 'free' for the summer, well right up till the pig farm calls asking for help.. Anyway I've decided to ignore basically everything for the next few days and work on my Skybolt. As some of you may remember I am repainting the frame of the plane, sorry but southwest airlines orange just doesn't do it for me..
On that topic, would it be best to strip off all of the paint and start fresh, or is the weight of the paint not going to matter? I remember reading something about the dope for the fabric covering eating the paint off the metal, what type of paint should I use to avoid that?? If memory serves, I need epoxy paint, but that section of the manual was written in the 80s..
A quick question about the landing gear, I was making the spacers for the brakes and there is a felt washer, is it OK if the spacer pushes through that washer and into the hub? I noticed the 'nut' screws on a lot further than I was expecting, should I make a spacer for that side too? I don't want the hub sliding outboard and putting pressure on the brake pad..
Thank you for your help,
