Hi All:
I started building my Pitts almost 13 years ago. I started by using Curtis Pitts original drawings dated 9-11-66. On these drawings for the front landing gear and flying wire attach bracket, it calls out for two 1/4" holes for the flying wire attach to be 1/2" apart. The AN665-34 clevis fittings for the flying wires are 5-8" wide. Therefore in order to put two fittings side by side and get the pins through the 1/4" holes the hole spacing should have been 5/8".
My question, has anyone else run up against this problem and how did you solve it?
Also does anyone know if there is a different clevis fitting with a slightly different configuration that would allow me to put two side by side with 1/2" hole spacing. Curtis must have had a different clevis in mind when he drew those drawings.
