I was going to open up the fairing on our S-2B gear leg the other day to get a good look at the plumbing going through the gear leg to the brake caliper. I stopped when I saw the fairings were attached with about 20 rivets along the trailing edge. I'm trying to put the finishing touches on a new set of longer gear for the Skybolt, and I wanted to see how Pitts solved the problem. My main question: Is there tubing in the gear leg that transitions back to hose at the bottom end, or is there hose the entire length inside the gear leg? In either case there has to be provision for the transition from tube back to hose inside the gear leg at the lower end or some way to anchor the hose solidly before it exits the gear leg at the bottom. The Aviat parts manual is not much help with specifics. I need to add a few tabs, drill through the rib at the top of the gear vee for a bulkhead fitting, etc. Has anybody pulled the fairing off to see what's inside, or better yet taken some pictures? Any help would be much appreciated--Ed
