    Why become a Subscribing Member?

    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

They say “Never meet your heroes” but I’m telling you to ignore Them. My girlfriend bought me an hour with Budd Davisson as a birthday gift and Budd and I flew together a few weeks ago. It was an amazing day. Not because getting some time in a Pitts was amazing (it was), not because Budd generously let me have the stick for most of the flight (he did), not because (even on a demo flight) you can’t take the teacher out of Budd and I learned things I thought I already knew, but because Budd is one amazingly cool dude. Meeting him is no different than reading his blog; insightful, funny, and multi-faceted. Sit down, buckle-up, and be prepared for a life experience.

Thank you Budd for making my day, but thank you more for your love of all things Pitts, Acro, and Life. When you give your last lesson, at least in 8PB – you'll never stop being a teacher, the sport aviation world will have a hole that will be damn hard to fill.

My advice to all of you? There isn’t much time left, if you have the opportunity to fly with Mr. Davisson. DO IT!
