    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).

I use a seat chute in the standard seat in the Skybolt. Whether I use the chute or cushions, my "bum bones" (gluts?) and lower back gets painful after about :30 min. I do not have back/alignment type of problems. I am thinking that it all is due to seat/flying leg angle, etc with no support to distribute my weight. I am going to see if extending the rudder pedals is possible and would help straighten my leg some what to relieve some weight concentration. I am also considering using an "Oregon Aero" lumbar wedge WITHIN my chute. I can not imagine that interfering with an otherwise successful egress.

I am normal size assuming 5'10" 170# is normal. Does anyone else find this problem? Ideas or suggestions? I am in good shape, good core, etc., and have no problems except in this seat.

Thanks,
