I have noticed that, on a few Pitts I have seen, the Mod for the install of the threaded rod between the cabane bushings as on a Skybolt,is replaced a piece of tubing welded along side of the cabane tubing near the top. Does this serve the same purpose as the threaded rod or some other purpose?
