I need some help with a canopy latch issue on my AcroSport II. I have been told that the canopy frame is something other than an AcroSport, and I'm trying to figure it out.
From the inside it is easy to open whether it is partially or fully closed. However from the outside it is OK to open if partially latched, but extremely difficult to open if fully latched.
Attached are picture of the locking and release mechanisms on the canopy frame. The "stick" is on the outside and the black ball is on the inside. The difficulty comes from using the "stick" on the outside. It doesn't seem to have the proper leverage to lift the lock out of the groove and over the lug.
I'm hoping to be able to fix it with a relatively small modification and not a major overhaul. Does anyone in here have any ideas on a fix?
