My carb inlet scoop has a single layer of what looks like 1/4 wire mesh that needs to be replaced. It is starting to fray at the edges and I certainly don't what any loose wires being sucked up into the carb.
My question is the plans call for two layers of wire mesh, # 30 mesh forward and 1/4 mesh cloth aft.
Is there a better way to do this or is good old wire mesh still the best solution?
