I am trying to figure out a real dollar value for a airplane I am trying to buy. 1948 rag wing 170. I know some people love the fabric wing and some hate it.
This airplane was rebuilt in 2000. Stripped and painted, new fabric, new modern looking panel, new radio, gauges, new interior and the 145 horse was overhauled. The airplane looks beautiful in pictures buy have not seen it in person yet. 3500TT and 550 since rebuild. He is asking 45,000. I have a Cessna 172 that is worth 45 and may trade him. Is his plane worth that if it is super nice? Just want to make sure if I trade it is a good deal for me. If not I can always make a lower offer and sell my 172??? This airplane looks way nicer in the pics than any of them on the market.
