    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).

I don’t know where to throw this question but perhaps someone in the group can help me clarify this.
I am an Instrument rated Private pilot with a SEL ,MEL class rating.
I have the hours needed to go for my commercial certificate and easily met the 10 hours of training in complex aircraft with variable pitch prop and retractable landing gear.
My question is, “Do I have to take my check ride for my commercial certificate in a complex aircraft or may it be fixed gear and fixed prop?
The reason I ask is the field I fly out of have only Piper Warriors and none are complex aircraft.:(
My one instructor says I do need to take my commercial check ride in a complex but I don't see in in the FAR Part 61 stipulating this..
Thank you :)
Tim
