    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

I have built the wings and am now beginning the ailerons. What seems strange to me is that on the plans the aileron profile, before placing the 1/16" ply leading edge, the has the same height as the wing profile. Thus, once the ply in place, the aileron will be 1/8" thicker than the wing.
Is this normal ?
As I haven't began yet, I could correct this by cutting 1/8" into the aileron spar, but I don't really like this solution.
What are your experiences ?
