I'm looking at an S-1E for around $30k that has been groundlooped. The lower wing was rebuilt with new spars. There was also some welding done in the tail area that I haven't learned the details on yet.

I'm worried about being able to sell this plane for about the same price that I'm paying for it (less engine time). I know there are a lot of variables in the value of a plane, but what amount would you say this type of damage history would knock off an identical plane without the groundloop? 20%?

I just spent a grueling 9 months selling my glider that had 30 year old damage history (repaired by the best facility in the US). I eventually sold it for around 10% less than market value of one that had no reported damage.

Thanks,
Dan
