The data plate could be a topic of its own. Might be a good thread to start, where everyone has there's and why.

Started a new thread on this subject of where to install the data plate.
A couple of years back, on the Kitfox I built. I pop riveted the data plate to an aluminum plate that I positioned on the inside of the fabric.
The fabric was sandwiched between the two aluminum plates.
So the data plate was just under and forward of the left horizontal stabilizer.
I will probably do the same with the Skybolt I am building.
I looked at this topic at EAA. Below is something they wrote about the subject.

I have plenty of time left before I need to install my plate. Maybe a couple of good ideas coming up!
