How important is the spring between the exhaust pipes? I think I have heard it referred to as a "cozy spring". I am assuming it absorbs vibrations? Mine is attached with two pipe clamps and the clamps keep snapping. I'm wondering if I can just remove the clamps and call it good, of if it's worth finding stronger clamps.
