I have read through a bunch of the FAA ACs but have not found a definitive answer to my question, so I figured I would ask here. If I was to do a complete restoration of an experimental aircraft, that still had its registration and airworthy certificate, would I be eligible to apply for the Repairmans Certificate? Lets say I was able to document a restoration that would consist of more than 51% of the plain being rebuilt.
From what I can gather the answer would be 'no' even though I may have actually built or restored more than the original builder did.
Thanks for your time,
Dan
