Im just trying to get my head around the positioning of the aileron slave strut horns. This is sheet 7A which depicts the struts. The struts need to be positioned so that they are vertical as per the note which means an offset in positioning of each aileron slave strut horn upper to lower. From what i can make out for them to be vertical the lower one needs to be further outboard or the upper one further inboard or a combination of both.
The aileron hinge centrelines are at 18 3/4" and most references are made to this. There is a measurement of 23-3/4" in the top spar diagram which implies the centreline of the slave strut horn to be outside of the hinges. This would make sense on the lower wing to make the strut vertical. Below that there is a centreline and hinge spar drawing of 5", not sure what this is showing as drawing above shows there is 5" between CL and Hinge but it is in the incorrect sense as labelled. Below that there is another spar drawing showing another CL of 10-5/8" (which could be upper wing strut horn CL??) and 16-7/8" from a rib. Bottom drawing shows same measurement of 16-7/8 but in the reverse sense, and new measurements of 11-1/4 and 13-1/4. (Spar plate)???. So im confused. If you've done it its probably obvious but i just can't make it out! Pics and pointers would be much appreciated.
