Engine is going together one piece at a time. Cylinders on and installed acc. and sump today. Oil returns from 290 cykinders don't quite fit but I think I can tweak them. Using IO320B1A sump, same as begore with rear mount servo so all my controls should fit.
Back to cylinders. Looking for what's next and noticed cylinders are not drilled for injectors. The one I happened to be looking at had the pad for the injector so I said to myself I'll just drill and tap them. Alas the other 3 don't have the pads. So two questions:
1. How do the engines run with the injectors in primer holes in bottom of intake. That's were they were on the HIO360 I bought but install is hard outside baffles and would be close to cowl? Much better on top.
2. I didn't bother to feel inside to see how much "meat" was in the non-pad cylinders but do you think I cound still install injectors there w/o the pad?
I purchased the cylinders from a member. A set off their Starduster. Chrome that weren't broke in well because of phase 1 testing issues. They decided to go with new. Really look nice and the price was right. Both me and the seller figured I could hone and re-ring but when I read about honing chrome I don't think it's a self hone deal so I'll buy oil and if everything works out maybe have them done right later?
Back to injectors??
