I made a cover for my Bolt. The top speed increased by 5 mph, it seems to climb better, and I think it makes the plane look wicked cool! Visibility is also a little better.
There are lots of ways to do this. I understand that Pitts S-2A'shave a hinge down the middle so the thingcan be folded and stowed. The frontscreen can be stowedin thecockpit.
Mine ismade from .020 with .032 spring clips riveted to it thatgrab the combing stiffener. The two aft springclipshave nutplates and can traverse fore and aft. It snaps in place and I move these two aft clips aft and tighten the #8 screws. i have two#8 screws on the forward end that go into nutplates on the cockpit sheeting throughtwo ofthe leather lacing holes.
