I glued up my spar buttplates on my lower spars tonight. Was nice to start gluing something other than rib gussets or wing tip bows.

These were the biggest pieces I have glued with T-88. I put an even coat on the spar and the spar plate and then used light clamping pressure, and no spring clamps.

Some of the plates had glue dripping out all over and some had very little squeezed out. I tried to use a uniform layer of glue, but due to the increased size of the part. I think the wood soaked up alot more glue then I am used too.

I think I am ok with what I have done, But I wanted to ask how thick do you guys try to spread the glue onto a large plate???

Thanks for the tips
Bill
