Gravity feed with Aux Pump

I have a Revmaster 2100D engine with a Revmaster Revflow carb. The carb takes 1-1.5 PSI and is designed for Gravity feed. I'd like to install a low pressure Facet aux pump and plan to put it in line between the tank and gascolator with a bypass around it to allow gravity flow. I'd only use the pump for landing and takeoff. I presume I'd need a one way check valve in the bypass line to keep the facet pumped fuel from returning to the tank. If that is correct, will a check valve restrict the flow of fuel when using gravity feed?
