    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Gday chap,When I was a little younger than I am now we had an Auster J5 as a tug for our gliders at our club in Kambalda, now unlike every video I see that has op pulled from the front,we were trained to do it from behind. Now I suspect that it was because one could do a solo start and reach in through the window and play with the switches and taps.It seemed more natural for me because you could move away from the direction of thrust even if you had to duck so as not to bash your head on the wing.Watching people prop from the front makes me cringe.Any thoughts? Cheers Ross
