Years ago I watched a British mechanic hand splice cable ends for a sailboat. I was fascinated by how he could do it without jabbing himself. I have seen hand splicing on old European homebuilts, it's a very elegant solution to terminate a cable assembly. I've looked at many youtube videos, but most are for heavy cables, which shows the basics, but I have not found anything that addresses 1/8" 7×19 cable we generally use. Any suggestions? I also searched the EAA archives with no joy. Any help appreciated.
