    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

Question, I have my pattern for the new head rest done. What's your recommendation as to grade of aluminum to use. I had some 6061 .32 thick that I tried but that is too tuff and when bent at the edge for a doubler it failed and broke off at the 180 degree bend. It just will not lay down right so need softer but don't want it to soft either as it will get hands on by people trying to be helpful, I know! The one that was there is beautiful just not big enough as you can see in the pctures.
