    Why become a Subscribing Member?

    • In addition to our active community, our content boasts exhaustive technical information which is often sought after for projects and maintenance. This information has accumulated over the 12+ years the forum has been in existence.
    • We are also a great resource for non biplane users, since many GA aircraft are built the same way (fabric and tube construction).
    • Annual membership also comes with two BiplaneForum.com decals.

After seeing a couple of introductions in the past couple of weeks I just want to say hi! I never 'officially' introduced myself so here goes. I am Tony, and I'm building a Skybolt. The project was purchased from an estate sale. The builder unfortunately passed away. The project is roughly 80% complete. Both wings are built, and the fuselage completely welded. I plan to put an IO-540 on it, and my intention is to build this airplane strictly for aerobatics. A mod that I plan to do after seeing this (thanks Dennis F)Skybolt at Oshkosh is changing to a Groves gear. I think the Skybolt looks so much better with the Groves gear. Hi everyone...
